When to Use Geotextile & Pins – The Extra Support Your Project Might Need

Got soggy or unstable ground? Use Geotextile

If your area has poor drainage, water damage, or soft soil, we recommend laying geotextile fabric underneath your EzyHex grids. It acts as a barrier to stop gravel from sinking and helps stabilise the surface over time.

*No water issues? If the ground is firm and well-drained, you can skip this step.

No kerb or edge? Use metal pins

If your project doesn't have a curb, path edge, or retaining wall to hold the EzyHex in place, secure the outside edges of your grid with metal pins. This helps prevent shifting—especially on driveways or sloped areas.

* Pins are only needed on the outer grids, not across the whole area.
