EZYHEX
Ground Grids
Ground Grids
Soft, rutted or boggy ground quickly becomes a headache on a driveway, path or parking area. Ezy Hex ground grids give gravel, soil or turf a stable structure to sit in, so the surface stays neater and handles regular use better. The recycled polypropylene panels clip together, allow water to drain through and can be used for home landscaping as well as larger commercial jobs. That makes them useful when you want a hardy surface without having to pour a solid slab.

What Are Ground Grids and How Do They Work?
A ground grid is an open-cell panel installed over a prepared base and filled with gravel, soil or turf. The cells stop the fill from spreading sideways, which helps reduce ruts, sinking and loose gravel. Once the panels are connected, loads are spread across a broader area instead of pressing into one spot. Because the grid remains open, water can still move through the finished surface rather than being trapped on top.
Types of Geogrids for Driveways and Outdoor Projects
-
Driveway Geogrids
For driveways, grids help keep gravel where it belongs under regular vehicle traffic. A well-prepared base is just as important as the grid itself.
-
Landscaping Geogrids
In gardens, courtyards and paths, grids can sit beneath decorative gravel or turf to give softer ground more structure without creating a sealed surface.
-
Heavy-Duty & Commercial Geogrids
Parking areas and busier access points need more attention to the base and drainage. Soft or water-damaged ground may also need geotextile fabric as part of the build-up.

Our new 8mm Heavy-Duty Galvanised Pins are designed to handle just about any outdoor job. Use them to lock your Ezy Hex Geo Grids firmly into place, anchor weed matting, secure garden edging, or hold down tarps, shade sails and mesh. They’re also perfect as heavy-duty tent pegs for camping, stabilising temporary structures, or supporting landscaping projects. Built for tough Aussie soil, these upgraded pins give you reliable grip and long-lasting stability across clay, gravel, sand and compacted ground.
When to Use If your area has poor drainage, water damage, or soft soil, we recommend laying Geotextile Fabric underneath your EzyHex grids. It acts as a barrier to stop gravel from sinking and helps stabilise the surface over time.
*No water issues? If the ground is firm and well-drained, you can skip this step.

Benefits of Using Geogrids for Driveways and Outdoor Projects
A grid keeps gravel contained, supports traffic and cuts down on the constant raking that loose surface can require. It also keeps the surface penetrable, allowing rain to come through. The modular panels suit DIY projects and can also be installed across larger landscaped or commercial areas.
Why Choose Ezy Hex for Your Geogrid Needs?
Ezy Hex uses an interlocking hexagonal panel made from recycled polypropylene. The panels clip together quickly and can be cut around corners and edges, making the system easily adaptable to different sites.
Maintenance and Longevity of Ground Grids
Once installed properly, there is not much to do. Clear debris when needed, keep an eye on busy areas and add gravel if the fill level drops. A solid base and secure edges will do most of the work.
How to Choose the Right Geogrid
Consider what will use the surface, how firm the ground is and how well the area drains. A driveway needs a stronger prepared base than a garden path. Measure the area before ordering and follow Ezy Hex installation guidance for the full build-up.
Durability: Engineered to withstand various conditions and impacts.
