What tools do I need to install Ezyhex?
For most installations, you’ll only need basic tools:
• A measuring tape
• A handsaw or grinder (for cutting grids to size)
• A shovel and rake (to prepare and level the base)
If you’re working on a high-impact area like a driveway, a compactor is recommended for preparing the base.
How do I maintain my Ezyhex surface?
Ezyhex grids require minimal maintenance. Once installed, they provide excellent stability and weed control. For gravel or rock surfaces, you may want to add more material occasionally to maintain the desired level. For grass, regular watering and mowing are all that’s needed.
What materials can be used to fill the grids?
You can fill the grids with a variety of materials, including natural earth, road base, sand, soil or small pebbles. Avoid using materials that are too large, as they may not settle properly within the grid structure.
Does Grid Stabilise blend with the surrounding landscape?
Yes, once filled and installed, Grid Stabilise is almost invisible. Its low-profile design and compatibility with natural materials help it blend seamlessly with the environment.
How does the Grid Stabilise help with heat reduction?
Filling the grid with materials like earth or sand can reduce surface temperatures, making it a practical choice for areas exposed to sunlight. This can contribute to a cooler, more comfortable environment.
Can Grid Stabilise help with erosion control?
Yes, by providing a stabilized base, Grid Stabilise can help prevent soil erosion, especially on sloped surfaces.
Can I use it for green spaces or grass parking?
Absolutely. Grid Stabilise is perfect for areas where you want to maintain a natural, green look while providing stability, such as grassy parking areas or garden paths.
