Stabilising Pins

Stabilising Pins

A grid or landscape fabric is only useful if it stays in place. Ezy Hex 200mm stabilising pins are made from 8 mm hot-dipped galvanised steel and give exposed edges, fabric and other outdoor materials a solid fixing point.

Use them with Ezy Hex ground grids, weed mat, edging, tents, tarps and similar jobs around the home, garden or worksite. They are simple hardware, but choosing a decent pin makes installation easier and gives the finished job a cleaner overall result.

What are Stabilising Pins and How They Work

Stabilising pins are metal anchors driven into the ground to stop materials shifting. With ground grids, they’re most useful around exposed outer edges where there’s no kerb or other firm restraint. They can also hold landscape fabric flat during installation or secure lighter outdoor materials. The 8 mm steel shaft gives the pin rigidity, while the galvanised finish helps protect the steel outdoors.

Made from hot-dipped galvanised steel, these pins resist rust, won’t bend under pressure, and deliver strong ground hold. The 30mm bent top allows for easy installation and removal, even in compacted or clay soils.

Why Choose Our Premium 8mm Galvanised Pegs?

Say hello to the new generation of Ezy Hex ground pins.

After listening to your feedback, we’ve upgraded our design to create a stronger, heavier, more durable pin that works across a huge range of outdoor jobs. These 8mm galvanised steel pins are built tough — made for Aussie soil and made to last.

Whether you’re locking down your Ezy Hex grids, pegging tents, securing landscape edging, anchoring weed mat, or holding down garden structures, these pins give you reliable holding power every time.

The bent-top design makes them easier to hammer in and simple to pull out when you need to relocate them. Fully hot-dipped galvanised, they resist rust and corrosion even in wet areas.

If you want a premium, long-lasting pin made for Australian conditions — this is it.

  • Geo Grid Pins

Geo grid pins are used around the perimeter of ground grids, especially on driveways, parking areas and other surfaces where the outside edge needs extra restraint.

  • Landscape Pins

Landscape pins are handy for weed mat, geotextile fabric, turf and edging, where the aim is simply to keep material flat and in position.

  • Heavy Duty Pins

For firmer ground or tougher jobs, a thicker steel pin is less likely to bend while it is being driven in. Ezy Hec uses an 8 mm shaft for this reason.

Key Applications of Stabilising Pins

These pins are useful for driveways and outdoor setups, including grid perimeters, geotextile or weed mat, garden edging, tents, tarps and gazebos. One box can cover several different jobs instead of being tied to a single use.

Benefits of Using Stabilising Pins

The main advantage is simple: they give loose materials something solid to hold onto. The bent top gives you a clear point to strike and makes removal easier, while the galvanised steel suits repeated outdoor use. Their size and strength also make them useful beyond grid installation.

Strong. Sustainable. Simple.

Whether you’re reinforcing a sloped area, building a durable car parking pad, or fixing up a muddy backyard, the Ezy Hex ground stabilisation system makes it easy to create strong, stable, and long-lasting surfaces—no concrete or tradies required.

How to Choose the Right Stabilising Pins

Think about what you are fixing and what the ground is like. Ezy Hex pins work well around exposed grid edges and on many landscaping jobs. Softer or sandy ground may need more fixing points, so check the installation guidance before you start.

  • Why Choose Ezy Hex for Your Stabilising Pins

Ezy Hex developed these reinforced pins for use with its ground grids and other outdoor jobs. At 200 mm long and 8 mm thick, they are noticeably more substantial than a light garden peg and are built for jobs where a firmer fixing is needed.

  • Maintenance and Longevity of Stabilising Pins

There is not much maintenance involved. Check any exposed pins when you inspect the surface, make sure they are still seated properly and replace one if it has bent or been damaged.

Ezy Hex Pins — FAQs

Can stabilising pins be reused if removed?

Yes, provided the pin is still straight and in good condition. Check it before driving it in again.

Are Ezy Hex pins suitable for soft or sandy soil?

Yes, but softer ground may need additional ins to hold the material securely.

Do heavy-duty pins work with all types of geogrids?

They are made for Ezy Hex grids. Check the dimensions and fixing method before using them with another system.

How deep should stabilising pins be installed for driveways?

Drive the pin until it is firmly seated and not left protruding. Follow the Ezy Hex installation guide for grid fixing.

Where Can I Use These Multi-Use Ground Stakes?

Durable ground stabilisation for driveways, parking pads, caravans, trailers and RV bases. This versatile system creates strong, low-maintenance surfaces while improving stability, drainage and erosion control.

Ideal for garden paths, walkways and landscaping, it helps prevent weeds, supports edging and retaining walls, and reinforces soil under sheds, water tanks and outdoor structures.

Built for tough Australian conditions, this grid and geo-fabric combo delivers long-lasting performance on soft soil, slopes and high-traffic areas.
